UCG Summer Camp

Welcome to our annual jam-packed, fun-filled UCG Summer Camp!
Why Summer Camp?
— by Stephen Clarke, Camp Director
One of the great blessings we have witnessed over recent years has been a marked increase in the numbers of young people in the Church. Solomon rightly expresses the desire we have for our children to enjoy their youth (Eccl. 11:9), and it’s very important to provide opportunities for them to experience the joys and freedoms of this exciting time of life! In the midst of a world where youth is fleeting and so many miss out on what are good and appropriate rights of passage, our children should be allowed to rejoice in their youth.
The lively atmosphere of Summer Camp, with it's fun, activity and friendship, is built upon significant principles. We all want our children and young people to understand what God has in mind for them, and camp is planned with that firmly in mind. What a blessing for our children to be set apart by God Himself (I Cor. 7:14)!

Summer Camp is fun, but it is fun as a part of an over arching responsibility we have to share the wonderful purpose God has in store for the young as well as the old. It is part of our opportunity to reinforce in the minds of our children that they too are invited to participate in God’s Kingdom. It is vital for them to come to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is their Saviour too!
Who makes it possible?
Many people are involved in making all of this happen. We greatly appreciate the willing volunteers who each year give of their time and resources to make camp happen. Many volunteer their time because they too recognise the valuable contribution that Summer Camp continues to make in the spiritual development of the youth.
It is also possible that they volunteer because they enjoy the sheer pleasure of giving...and camp is always fun for them too!
There are also many members who, being unable to volunteer their time, contribute through financial donations. It is those donations that help young people come to camp who otherwise may not be able to afford the cost. We are very grateful to all those who contribute in this way.
With so many young people, we may need to put a cap on the number of campers we are able to accommodate. Make sure you pick up your camper application form and submit it as soon as it is available. You won't want to run the risk of missing out!
Finally, all of us can contribute by praying for God’s blessing upon the preparation as well as the experience of the annual UCG Summer Camp.
Thank you for all your support.
